Amish Country Classic Bike Ride Logo Contest

The Rotary Amish Country Classic Bike Ride Logo Contest is an opportunity for you to design the logo for next year's AMISH COUNTRY CLASSIC BIKE RIDE! The winning logo will be displayed on the event's T-shirt, website and all print materials.
The competition is open to current students in good standing at Conestoga Valley, Pequea Valley and Lancaster Mennonite high schools.  The signature of a supervising/sponsoring teacher on the ENTRY FORM is required to certify that (1) the artwork is the student’s original creation and (2) no copyrighted materials are used without permission. Designs must be limited to two ink colors and be submitted in an electronic format suitable for silk screening (see below). Hand-drawn designs are not acceptable.

CONTENT/THEME

Winning entries will illustrate the Amish Country theme of the Bike Ride.
  • All designs must contain the words “Amish Country Classic” with a bicycle image or, if no bicycle, the additional words “Bike Ride.”
  • Incorporating the Rotary logo into the design is not mandatory, but may provide a competitive edge if done creatively and tastefully.
  • All designs must contain the year 2017.

COLORS

The project may use many different shades of a single ink, but only two ink colors may be used. Assume that the background color (shirt material) is gold (deep yellow, not metallic). If parts of your design show through to the background, then you are not using an ink for that part of the design. Black is considered an ink color. Color values used in the project must be clearly provided (e.g. RGB, CMYK or Pantone).

FORMAT

Logos are generally created in vector format, which enables artwork to be resized without losing clarity. Some vector graphics editors include Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, OpenOffice.org Draw, and Vector Paint. Creating a vector logo is highly recommended; your logo needs to look good in a variety of sizes and applications. It is acceptable to use the expertise of a teacher or other mentor to convert your original artwork into vector art if you create using a non-vector program.
Each project must be able to be clearly printed to fit in a 7" x 7" area.
